Thanks to @hcctrioeoc, students from Worthing High Thanks to @hcctrioeoc, students from Worthing High School were able to "try on" in-demand careers at school through Career Kits. Dr. Chandra Richardson, College Access Coordinator at @hisd2college, shared how determined students were to successfully complete the simulations:⁠

🚚 We delivered 30 Career to Worthing HS (thanks to HCC TRIO)⁠
❤️ We led an Allied Healthcare Panel with KIPP Public Schools alongside Baylor Ascend and Capital IDEA Houston
Finding out what career you don't want is just as Finding out what career you don't want is just as essential as deciding what career you do want. Here are stories of students discovering both through our Health Information Technician simulation.⁠

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Health Information Technicians (HIT) are in high demand. By exposing youth to high-growth professions like HIT, our Healthcare Career Kit empowers students to pursue career pathways that provide economic mobility.⁠
Meet Maddy. At only 2 years old, and with the help Meet Maddy. At only 2 years old, and with the help of her aunt - a BridgeYear staff member - she's already exploring careers and has learned that goggles aren't her strength.⁠

Do you remember the first time you tried something and failed but were glad you did it anyway?⁠ A similar thing is happening with students in our Career Kit program - youth are trying on careers to see what fits and what doesn't so they can decide what path to take out of high school.⁠
